Video Clips to Help

This page offers you a selection of video clips that you might want to watch. The first section are clips about the Academy such as information on the curriculum or the narrated/virtual tour.

Some of the videos are recordings of training that we have delivered in school and for local schools and some of the videos are from other sources. It is important to understand that this training should be viewed as possible solutions or possible interventions to use when working with children and young people. Children and young people are often complex and different ways of working with them and research is ever changing.

The second section of videos are for people to try at home, in the evenings, weekends or during the school holidays.

The third section of video clips include short films to help everyone understand and learn about different mental health issues that face us all.

If you have any requests for video information or would like something more specific please contact us directly.

Mike Payton https://www.mikepayton.org/ worked with students from KS3 classes to help them deliver a story.

Advice for Mental Health

We recognise the importance of supporting our student’s mental health and wellbeing throughout their journey at Foxwood. Much of our curriculum supports the teaching of emotional regulation strategies however at times, students may need additional support.

We offer a bespoke approach to a student who is experiencing mental health challenges which may lead to interventions delivered by Foxwood staff. Additionally, it might be that we seek support from external agencies. We value collaboration with the student, their families or carers and teaching staff when developing a supportive plan.

If you feel your student may be experiencing challenges in their mental health, please do feel free to make contact with your child or young person’s teacher, our Family Liaison Officer – Angie Potter or Deputy Headteacher – Matt Joyce to discuss.
