Proposal to expand Foxwood Academy
Foxwood Academy has the opportunity to expand its provision to meet the needs of approximately 150 extra children, using the adjacent land formerly occupied by The Bramcote School.
The proposed development consists of a new SEND Secondary site sitting alongside the existing Foxwood Academy, which will cater to the specific needs of children with physical disabilities and/or learning difficulties.
The former Bramcote school buildings, which used to occupy the site, were damaged by fire in September 2021 and the site has since been demolished and cleared for redevelopment.
The proposed school will form part of the Foxwood Academy campus and wider White Hills Park Trust campus. Details of the proposed development have been displayed during a public exhibition, and the information can be found in the attachment below.
At this stage, the plans for the proposed school are in their preliminary stages. However, the design process will be informed by comments received at the public exhibition and through the online feedback form, and all feedback will be utilised by the design team in the preparation of a full planning application for the proposed site.
